Oh the humanity, I have had my comment on RedState obliterated and my account deleted, and I didn’t even shill for Ron Paul. Actually I never paid much attention to the RedState blog, and even forgot that I had registered an account there until today when I saw a link from Google to a blog entry titled “I support Ron Paul [annotated]”. I was intrigued by the title so I decided to check it out. As you can see (if it’s still there) it is a piece by a brave author named WildBill whose article was annotated by a representative from the RedState Ministry of Censorship and Propaganda, named Moe Lane.
What prompted me to comment was some unbelievable comments that insinuated that we have not had our freedoms diminished and even called the author a “complete blithering idiot” and called those that also see the fact that we have lost liberty in this country “Nimrods”. It then struck me why I stayed away from RedState so much, it was the insightful commentary.
Anyway, in a moment of spontaneity, I decided to chime in and make a point to those that don’t keep up on current events. Here it is as well as I can remember from memory:

“Those who think that our freedom and liberties are not at stake should read the latest constitutional aberration to get approved by the House. HR 1955 - the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 a.k.a. the Thought Crime Bill. What is really amazing is the number of AYE votes that were received from the followers of “disillusioned liberal intellectuals”, those would be neocons.
These phony conservatives were all up in arms against the “Fairness Doctrine”, but where is the outrage against this authoritarian ditty?”

The best I can surmise is that my crime was I exposed the Pro-War for Terror Jacobins of RedState as actually followers of the ideology of former hard left liberal Democrats like Irving Kristol and Norman Podhoretz or it is a crime to point out that many RedState hero’s, phony conservative congressmen vote in mass for liberty stealing legislation, even those sponsored by liberal Democrats.

You know how little kids think if they close their eyes, you disappear?

Yep, me too. Got the boot not long after you did, in my case for expressing my dismay that no one there wanted to have a real, honest to goodness debate with me about foreign policy.

It looks like that confirms that RedState has their own little version of the “Patriot Act”. If they don’t like what you say or you embarrass the status quo, they can just make you disappear.
That’s the tyrant model for a blog which they hide behind the private property rationale.
I’m all for the owners of private property to set their own rules, but the only reason for a blog with commenting to exist is to encourage discourse amongst it’s readers.
The RedState business model is like a business that turns away customers at the door arbitrarily because they don’t like the way somebody looks.

RedState banned me for indicating a valid (I think) disagreement with a post by Erik comparing Ron to Hitler. Note that I do not mention Ron Paul at any time in the exchange.

Michael, maybe your announcing that you have an IQ of 135 is what persuaded them to banish you.
I think RedState has another unwritten rule, that if anyone is caught on RedState with an IQ greater than 75, they shall be banned for life.
The growing number of incomprehensible comments is evidence that their purge is working.

Then again, only the anointed of the RedState fascists can use analogies to totalitarian dictators, and then only in the most bizarre ways like comparing Ron to Hitler. Criticism of their smearing techniques, which are reminiscent of Stalin are also cause for exile.

Enjoy your banishment, consider it a badge of honor.

You mean RedNeckState. That site is pathetic. A discussion site that doesn’t not like discussion. Unbelievable. I’ve been banned multiple times just trying to make regular arguments. Nothing offensive or spam or anything, just opinion.

Republicans are doomed in the next election exactly because of Hannity, Limbaugh, Fox News & sites like Redstate that just will not even allow discussion of Ron Paul. Its amazing really. What are they so afraid of?

The neocons want to keep Ron Paul down. I’m not sure exactly why sites like Redstate don’t see that Ron Paul is the Republican Party’s only hope of winning the next election.

People are sick and tired of the Iraq war and also Bush & McCain’s push to legalize illegals.

The war has cost nearly a trillion dollars. With that kind of money, we would have had even Hillary’s healthcare plan covered.

Got the boot this week. I’m not a Ron Paul supporter but compared him and his campaign to that of Goldwater. Big Moe had a blood vessel burst and booted me off the website. Sad I used to be a fan or Redstate. Now it is doomed to implode on its own ideology.

I subscribed to Redstates Morning Briefings just for laughs, but finally added a comment. Nothing too brutal, just that the RS blogger had missed the point of an article he was critiquing, and hadn’t made his case very well.

The entertaining part, if you’re able to get to the site at all after the censor comes down on you (I was, after a day or so, but not able to post)is the victory celebration among the regulars, imagining they’ve chased you off with their devastating responses ( “You’re a troll !”)
