A Nation of Sheep by Andrew P. Napolitano
Filed Under Andrew P. Napolitano, Libertarian, National, Ron Paul

Andrew P. Napolitano’s new book is now available, A Nation of Sheep looks like another winner from the libertarian judge, I’m looking forward to receiving it. I’ve have read and enjoyed both of Napolitano’s previous books,
The Constitution in Exile: How the Federal Government Has Seized Power by Rewriting the Supreme Law of the Land and
Constitutional Chaos: What Happens When the Government Breaks Its Own Laws. If you’ve read them too, you know Judge Napolitano takes no prisoners and condemns both slimy Democrat or Republican violators of the U.S. Constitution with equal vigor.
In his new book, he takes them to the woodshed again and this time the sheep who vote for them. Here’s the description of the book on Amazon.
In this explosive new book, Judge Andrew P. Napolitano, Fox News Channel’s Senior Judicial Analyst, holds a straightforward “conversation” with the American voter in which he asks questions and gives answers that no one else will:
* Why do our taxes continue to rise, government services stay worse than ever, and we just pay the taxes and re-elect
those who raised them?
* Why do people in government never acknowledge a mistake and why do we accept that?
* Why does the government continue to regulate private behavior?
* Why do both Republicans and Democrats bring about bigger and more expensive government?
* What ever happened to our individual inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that are guaranteed
by the Declaration of Independence, yet ignored by the governments elected to protect them?
* Why does Congress keep telling the States what to do?
* Why does every public office holder swear allegiance to the Constitution, yet very few follow it?
* Why are we afraid of the governments we have hired to protect our freedoms?
Be sure to check out Andrew Napolitano’s interview on the David Allen Show where he talks about his new book and Presidential Candidate Ron Paul. The podcast is available here.

What a fine American! I’ve got his first two books already and will now order _A Nation of Sheep_. The American battle cry: Baaaaa!
There is no better choice for a vice presidential running mate for Dr. Ron Paul in 2008, the man Judge Napolitano calls, “the modern day Thomas Jefferson. Ron & the Judge, what a team!
To Judge Andrew Napolitano
Are you aware of the book, “A Nation of Sheep,” by Wm. J. Ledera, W.W. Norton & Company, Inc., New York, 1961, Library of Congress Catalog Card No. 61-5688. I have a copy.

I caught the 10/26/07 replay of Judge Napolitano on C-SPAN during which tok the time to carefully and systematically break the Patriot Act down into bite-size pieces and give the background leading up to the Patriot Act.
I was disgusted and shocked at how malevolently imperiled our Consitutional entitlements are. We MUST fight back!
I will mentio that in the process of looking for a replay of Napolitano’s 11/17/0 C-SPAN broadcast I found this website and for the first time realized that I am at home among Libertarians and I am further encouraged (and emboldened) to make a difference. I do have the exclusive resources to do so.
I’am looking for the text from Andrew Napolitano speech on c-span 10/26/07.
I never understood why we invaded a sovereign nation under the banner of 9/11. Bush told us when he got elected that we needed more product (oil). Was he referring to the Caspian Basin where 2/3 of the world’s oil supply is located including the countries of Afghanastan, Iraq and Iran.
Evidently, impugning opponents patriotism and instilling fear works for the American people.
As for the recent telivised debates on both sides there is no discussion of the War. It looks more like a war on the American people than a War on Terrorism.
Senator Byrd has already told us that this administration will not tolerate dissent. Since we are heading for Corporacy why not aks CEO what their plans are for America rather than our politicians?
reply to: Georrge Graffeo
Really quite simple:
Our government is ’stashing’ black gold (oil)and yellow gold with the intent to control all world government. Who controls these control the World.
It was also known that Americans were too lazy, too spoiled, and too DUMB to interfere. To be certain of the latter, the Board of Regents has lowered our Standards of Education many times since the late 60’s. Is this something that Americans have paid any attention to?
For those who couldn’t be controlled by ‘dumbing’, they offered up drugs for all! Both legal and illegal. Think about it…
None of this comes about by any happenchance. This (and much more) has been planned a very long time ago, and has followed according to plan. I know. I was told at the ripe old age of 9 (yes…nine), and that was in 1944.
I’m an old lady now and didn’t think I’d live long enough to see it. I’m sorry I did.
The information was all there (and still is) for anyone interested, but we Americans prefer football and a beer…
How can someone be in favor of the First Amendment and the Constitution and be a Libertarian who believes that fetuses deserve full human rights? This is obviously an unscientific view, since a fetus is not a person. Besides, we’re a little short on human rights in this country so the fetus doesn’t have much to gain with the Amendments, the Constitution, and Habeas Corpus. And what about the American commons? I don’t understand how you can be so correct and so wrong simultaneously.
America is truly a Nation of Sheep. We swallow the party line
hook, line and sinker. And we feel self-righteous about it.
No matter how stupid these laws are we consider all who object
to be idiots. The laws regarding smoking and seat-belts are truly
Communistic. They seek to invade the privacy of free-born citizens
in the name of protecting the commonwealth.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
I am listening to you on fox…you said the government cannot spend tax dollars to help a few…bailouts…what about our welfare system…also not legal?
Napolitano is RIGHT!
As hard as it is for some of my brother libertarians to believe, A fetus is a human being, it has all the right parts.Period. And you just might want to hold on to that fact with all of your strength. Or else… Our government, via manipulated democratic approval may one day decide to terminate YOU or your offspring out of convenience or state necessity. The value of life(of a Human) is being eroded daily. If this persists there will come a day when discriminate murdering is an every day occurrence — for the common good of course(they just need the right rational). So remember, the notion of terminating a fetus is the precursor to this eventuality. And I’m not even going to mention the words of our founders in the D of I.
Note: A fetus is submerged in amniotic fluid within the placenta (and connected to it via an umbilical cord) - all within the mothers womb. The fetus is NOT an appendage of the mother, nor is the placenta. However, the placenta is in such close proximity of the uterus that blood from the mother enters the membrane of the placenta, thus feeding the fetus. The fetus is an AUTONOMOUS human being within the placenta, within the womb. The mother is simply a host.
Please interview Pennsylvania Asst. Atty Genl Berg regarding lawsuit filed, and evidence growing regarding Obama actually being born in Kenya, thereby disqualifying him from becoming President! Berg was interviewed by Michael Savage yesterday (available at http://www.michaelsavage.com ). Shouldn’t we at least comment on possible merits, rather than just dismissing? Berg is lifetime Democrat and certainly has SOME credibility, right?

Judge We enjoy your Freedom Watch show. If you are interested in the origin of collectivist education google Norman Dodd. He was research director of the Reese commitee in 1953. Norm was a good friend of mine during the 60’s and 70’s in NYC. Also it’s interesting to note that many of the founders were uneasy about creating a central gov’t especially Patrick Henry. We should have stayed with a confederation as it happens that all gov’ts become tyrannical in time as ours has now I’m a libertarian also Good luck with your show Bob Cody
Dear Judge,
I watch you on Fox and I admire you greatly for your common sense and intelligence. Therefore, I pose this question, is there anyway, we as Americans, backed by the constitution, can start to recall all those in D.C. who refuse to listen, and hold elections prior to 2010, and put those who will listen to us in their place? Thank you for your time.
Sincerely yours,
John Obholz
Judge,
Ordering you new book today. I have just published Changing the Guard about a coup d’etat of America. By listening to great people like yourself and other people along with many average citizens from all over America, I decided to write this little book so that maybe the Dems would understand that the voters are serious and they are thinking out of the traditional box. The bigger point is to get the voters to get off of their butt and do their own research and not belive main stream media. If you would like a copy let me know and I would be happy to send you one.
Judge,
Why don’t you run for president? You know the constitution.
Emily
You are listening to and reading the book of a man who actually claimed, on live TV, that “the last time I looked, the Congress can’t change the (U.S.) Constitution. See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=matl8i9kc7w&feature=player_embedded
This man is nothing but a fatuous fool. His ignorance of the VERY FIRST ARTICLE of the U.S. Constitution would get him laughed out of law school. Please feel free to buy his book. I also recommend “are you my mother” and “go dog go” for you idiots who take this ‘judge’ at his word.
He is a fool and his understanding of the U.S. Constitution goes no further than than “we the people”, a very commendable phrase indeed. Too bad most people are willing to listen to a man who has shown quite clearly that he has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about.
Well Steve, that was quite an ignorant rant pretending to be intelligent debate.
The judge is quite right, “Congress can’t change the (U.S.) Constitution”, unless they get the majority of states to ratify any amendment they craft, a long and painful public process, which is likely the reason they generally ignore the Constitution when going for all those power grabs they like so much.
