Bob Barr on that empty suit McCain
Filed Under Libertarian, Libertarian Party, National | Leave a Comment
“We’re going to recover the peoples trust by standing up again to the values Americans admire. The party of Lincoln, Roosevelt and Reagan is going to get back to basics” - John McCain
In other words the party of war, corporate welfare, the regulatory state, expanded executive power and big government is what the American people want according to John McCain.
As a Jeffersonian the legacy left by those presidents is not exactly something I admire.

It ain’t Utopian Obamamania or the Crazy Talk Express. Just one damn good interview on the issues with Libertarian Presidential Candidate Bob Barr.
If I can’t vote for Ron Paul on the Republican ticket, I’ll “throw my vote away” on Bob Barr on the Libertarian ticket. No Demopublican fascism for me.

A Neo-Con Divorce

Hat Tip to the LP Blog for this one.
Steven Greenhut, Senior editorial writer and columnist for the Orange County Register announces irreconcilable differences are the reason he is separating from the mainstream Republican Party. Steven says, “It’s a groan-inducing cliche, I know, but it applies here: I didn’t leave the party; the party left me.”
Steven also goes after neo-con hack, Big Brother David Brooks of the New York Times.
Great editorial Steve!
Breaking up with the GOP
Is the battle of individual liberty against big government over? A lot of Republicans seem to have declared ‘mission accomplished’By STEVEN GREENHUT
Senior editorial writer and columnist for the RegisterHave you ever been in one of those destructive long-term relationships that, at some point, you really just needed to end?
I’m not referring to my marriage to my lovely wife of 23 years, but to my 25-year relationship with the Republican Party. In recent years especially, I have found fewer things in common with the party. I feel used and abused. We’ve obviously grown in different and incompatible directions.

Remembering Harry Browne

It’s hard to believe it’s been a little over a year since Harry Browne passed away. Robert Ringer wrote a nice article on WorldNetDaily remembering Harry Browne. Check it out.
A wisdom-filled self-eulogy

When Harry Browne, the Libertarian Party candidate for president in 1996 and 2000, passed away on March 1, 2006, it was a sad day for the cause of liberty. Harry may have possessed the most remarkable intellect of our time. He had an uncanny knack for making profound points in ways that anyone could understand.
Harry was the ultimate role model when it came to the power of the understatement. Unlike so many screaming twit-heads who pop up on our television screens each day, he never raised his voice, never exaggerated and never engaged in personal attacks. He was living proof that there is no replacement for knowledge and wisdom when it comes to changing the hearts and minds of people.

Everybody probably knows by now that 2004 Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate Michael Badnarik has endorsed Republican Congressman Ron Paul for the 2008 presdential race at the 2007 New Hampshire Liberty Forum.
Like Ron Paul, Badnarik is quite a constitutional scholar in his own right and teaches introductory classes on the U.S. Constitution. You can take his course online for free in a 7 part series on Google Video.
This is part 1 here…
